Which of these is a Christian?
See the Lord told Samuel in I Samuel 16:7 after he examined each of Jesse's son's and was told, "Nope, not that one", when he got to David, he was like, "Really Lord, this one?" NOT to look on his outward appearance, because the Lord doesn't look at men and women the way we do. He looks much deeper than that. He looks at their hearts. I have no idea if ANY of these people in these pictures are believers, but I won't presume they are not, based on their external appearance.
Jesus hung out with many who were considered "especially wicked" by the Pharisee's of the day, and do you know what He said to them when they questioned his disciples about his practice?
"Those who are strong and well (healthy) have no need of a physician, but those who are weak and sick. GO and LEARN what this means: I desire mercy [that is, readiness to help those in trouble] and NOT sacrifice and sacrificial victims. For I came not to call and invite [to repentance] the righteous (those who are upright and in right standing with God), but sinners (the erring ones and all those not free from sin)."
I ran across this great post this week about the church and how we NEED to give more grace to one another:
"The Church needs more grace, and I am going to give it to her. Since when did anything but grace comprise the family of God? If all we have is doctrine and theology and morality, or if all we have is prophecy and fire and deconstruction, then we are nothing, a resounding gong, a clanging cymbal. If grace doesn’t bind us, then religion will destroy us."
Mercy will ALWAYS triumph over justice...and I praise God that it does.
